On July 30, the National Water Museum of China presented "Beyond Rivers and Seas - Cultural Exchanges Through International Waterways" to explore and interpret the stories of waterway culture and scientific & technological exchanges through objects, with a purpose to strengthen the international exchanges on water culture and promote mutual learning of civilization. The exhibition was launched under the guidance of the Global Union of Water Museums and with the support from the National Union of Water Conservancy Museums.
The exhibition displayed more than 150 imported goods introduced from various countries during the late Qing Dynasty and the period of the Republic of China from a unique perspective. A great number of audiences from around the country came to explore the exotic cultures on the first day of the exhibition. The Special HIBL Committee of Zhejiang Museums Association plans to organize foreign juveniles from international communities in Hangzhou to participate in the international water culture HIBL activities during the exhibition.
