The troubled tourism industry arrives at a turning point right before the summer vocation, as a result of the recent policies of removing asterisk mark that indicates a history of travel to high-risk regions from the travel log QR code, gradual recovery of cross-provincial package tours, and the ninth version plan for COVID-19 response. Long distant travel, which has been gloomy for a long time since the outbreak of COVID-19, is recovering at a faster pace. 

According to various OTA online travel services, Hangzhou moved up to the third place in China in term of tourism popularity in the recent week, with hotel reservation more than doubled compared to one month ago, recovering to around 85% of pre-pandemic level. There are signs of robust rebound of tourism industry, which greatly improves the confidence of travel enterprises and practitioners.
