With eco-friendly tree pools, green roofs and so on, the Sponge Competition Area of Hangzhou Asian Games has gradually taken shape in the Media Village of Asian Games Village in Xiaoshan District. Integrating various sponge technologies with the landscape, Peach Blossom Lake Park in Shangcheng District features a different sight every five steps and a pavilion every ten steps. A breathable and resilient sponge city is emerging. 

Since Hangzhou was selected as one of the first national demonstration cities to systematically promote the city-wide construction of sponge city, it has given priority to the problem of ponding and waterlogging. And through overall planning, systematic implementation of policies and orderly construction based on the actual local conditions, Hangzhou has initially created a new model for building a demonstrative sponge city and promoted the green development of the city in an all-round way.
