During seven years since the founding of Hangzhou Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Area (HCECPA), Hangzhou has been prosperous with cross-border e-commerce and has fostered a large number of new cross-border e-commerce sellers as digital and smart technologies are being adopted in foreign trade industry. Headquartered in Hangzhou, the sellers have integrated the supply resources of manufacturers in Zhejiang Province and Yangtze River Delta industrial zones to upgrade themselves from start-up sellers to head sellers.

In the past seven years, HCECPA has attracted a number of trade and business associations, including Cross-border E-commerce Association and CBEC-100, and has introduced service providers covering the whole chain of cross-border e-commerce, including financial payment, finance and taxation, logistics and brand promotion. As of the end of 2021, Hangzhou has fostered a total of 411 and 184 cross-border e-commerce sellers with annual turnover of over RMB 20 million and over USD 10 million respectively.
