With the gas pipelines accessing to each household in Dazhuang Village, Tonglu’s Fuchunjiang County on Sept.2, this She-Nation ethnic village became the first of its kind in Zhejiang to cook with natural gas, which is something many others take for granted.

Mr Zhong. Aged 64, was the first to apply for the gas meter installation. It was not until 2 years ago that he used bottled gas to cook. Before that, he had to chop wood, oldest cooking fuel, and make the fire to cook.

“The bottled gas largely freed me up from the manual work as I am getting older. But it is also frustrating each time we run out of gas-- it takes the trouble to replace with a new one.”

“Now the natural gas pipe solves everything.” He added with excitement.

Since 2009, the same warmth provided by Hangzhou Gas Engineering Installation Company to people in the city, has been extended to Dazhuang Village, one of the most remote villages in Tonglu County. Two years ago, the company distributed the natural gas network to the village, and promised to charge the same as everywhere else.
