Two inter-city railways, Hangzhou-Haining and Hangzhou-Shaoxing Inter-city railways will open to passenger services in June, says the authority.

Hangzhou-Haining Inter-city railway has been conducting trial run since March, one step closer to its fully-fledged operation. Fares vary based on the length of travel with the minimum of 2 yuan, and maximum of 1 yuan per 8 km if the ride reaches 24 km and over.

Additionally, Hangzhou transport card holders and passengers with Hangzhou subway code can travel between the rail line without needing to switch cards.

Stretching a total length of 20.3 km, Hangzhou-Shaoxing Inter-city railway reduces the travel time between both cities by 25 minutes with 100km/h at a full run.

Passengers can depart from Hangzhou subway Line 1 and Line 5 to the destination of Haining and Shaoxing respectively.
