In the park in the morning, a young man is sitting on a bench to cut the hair of alady in her 60s, with tools and signs emblazoned with the word "free haircut."
The young man, Xiao Shen'ao, from Kaifeng, Henan province, was born in 2000 and works in a hair salon in Hangzhou. He has been giving free haircuts to the elderly every morning in the East River Park in Hangzhou's Shangcheng District for more than half a year.
"Nowit'scold, so I come here around 8:00 a.m. every day. In summer, I will be here around 6:00 a.m.,"said Xiao.
Xiao started offering free haircuts in March this year.
"By doing this, I can help the elderly, and practice my own craft," said Xiao.
Normally, Xiao would put the barber on an open deck in the park, and move to a nearby pavilion when it rained.
Li, alady in her 60s, came to the park and asked Xiao to trim her hair.
"He is such a sweet young man and a good barber,"said Li.
After cutting the hair for several people, Xiao went back to work at the beauty shop around 10 o 'clock.
This is his daily life, busy and meaningful.
“I enjoy my life, and I'll keep offering free haircut as long as I have the time and energy,”said Xiao.
