The first Zhejiang Future Village Development Alliance Conference was held in Lin'an district, Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, from Oct 10-11. Attendees of the conference discussed what future villages would look like.
The conference was hosted in Houying village, Changhua town, Lin'an district, which has been designated a pilot village for making future villages a reality.
In 2019, Houying village took advantage of its unique resources to devleop itself into an idyllic village. So far, 51 homestays have been built there, as more and more tourists flock there. Many local villagers have made a fortune off of these homestays.
Weng Yuhui, chairman of Hangzhou Mancun Culture and Tourism Investment Management Co Ltd, proposed nine different possibilities for future villages at the conference. He said that the villages will be managed in accordance with the principles of innovation, coordination, green development, openness, and sharing.
According to Yu, future villages will share no borders and will form a community of shared interest for all villagers.
