The Hangzhou High-Tech Zone (Binjiang) will provide more houses to accommodate skilled workers over the next three years as part of its efforts to attract more talent, according to an announcement made at the Hangzhou Binjiang International Talent Festival, which started on May 5.
According to the announcement, Hangzhou aims to double the number of affordable houses for skilled workers before the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games, at which time the number of houses for talent is expected to surpass 10,000.
Officials claim that Binjiang district has provided more than 4,500 houses for over 8,000 skilled workers from nearly 500 companies.
The district has developed an information management system by tapping into block chain technology in order to streamline procedures for approving accommodation for talent.
Moving forward, Binjiang plans to speed up construction on two accommodation projects for talent, namely Xixing and Puyan.
The Xixing project is located near the Internet of Things Town in Binjiang and covers an area of 44,000 square meters. It is expected to open before the Asian Games.
The Puyan project is located in the Intelligence Health Care Town and has a planned area of nearly 50,000 square meters. Construction is expected to be completed before the Asian Games.
