Recently, the staff of traditional Chinese medicine office of Linqi town, Chun 'an district found several rare plants on the traditional Chinese medicine base of Yongyin family farm which is located in the north of Chun 'an. Professor Li Genyou of Zhejiang A&F University identified it as erect mountain coral ——Galeola Matsudai Hayata .
According to the professor, Galeola Matsudai Hayata belongs to Orchidaceae Juss, so it has some growth habits which are similar to orchids. It likes to grow in the hillside of the mountain valley. In addition, this species has high requirements for ecological environment and air quality. It must be planted on the high altitude of a mountain, usually 800 to 2300 meters above the sea level. This time, the area found by the staff was 850 meters above the sea level and there was a total of three clusters, the largest of which had 7 to 8 branches.
At present, this type of species has only been found in Anhui, Taiwan and Hunan (Yizhang). It is the first time Galeola Matsudai Hayata has been found in Zhejiang.
