Hangzhou in East China's Zhejiang province recently released a report on the city's Party members, local media reported on July 2.
As of June 5, Hangzhou is home to a total of 765,742 Party members, who are affiliated to 43,831 grassroots Party branches. A total of 285,200 of them are females.
Those who are aged below 35 and those who are aged above 61 accounted for 30.54 percent and 27.26 percent of the total, respectively.
Membership in the Communist Party of China has exceeded 95 million, the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee announced on June 30.
Over the past century, the CPC has seen membership increase to more than 95 million from just about 50 when it was founded in 1921.
