Cargo throughput at the Hangzhou Port from January to Marchwas measured at 29.21 million tons, a year-on-year rise of 47percent, according to statistics released by Hangzhou transportation authoritieson April 21.
Hangzhou Port connects the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, Qiantang River, and the Hangyong Canal. Its channels have a combined length of 2,006 kilometers.
Authoritieshave said that water cargo throughput in Hangzhou accounts for nearly one third of total cargo throughput in the city.
As the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 draws nearer, ports in Hangzhou will play a bigger role in transporting construction materials.
