Jiande, a county-level city in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, held an online signing ceremony for eight projects receiving a total of 13.63 billion yuan ($2.1 billion) in investment on Feb 20, local media outlets reported.

Six of the projects are in the secondary industry and two are in the tertiary industry, including all kinds of services and products. They are mainly involved in new materials, healthcare, and culture and tourism.

A cultural town funded by Shenzhen-based Hydoo International Holding Limited had the largest investment at 11.8 billion yuan.

The town, which has a planned area of 200 hectares, is designed for rural tourism, health traveling, family holidays, cultural and artistic exchanges, and education and training.

It is expected to bring in over 200 businesses and 1,000 innovative cultural personnel. In addition, over 1 million tourists are expected to visit the town every year, resulting in 2 billion yuan in annual revenue and 100 million yuan in tax revenue.

"We were initially struck by Jiande's picturesque natural views and have gained solid support from the local government to speed up our settlement. We plan to develop the town into a model for the Yangtze River Delta region," said Wang Dewen, president of Hydoo.

Local officials also promised to continue improving the business environment and provide investors with high-quality and efficient services.
