Alibaba Cloud announced on Monday that an extra CNY 200 billion yuan will be invested in R&D of Cloud Systems, Servers, Chips, Networks, and other technologies as well as the construction of data centers in the next three years.
Zhang Jianfeng, president of Alibaba Cloud, claimed that Alibaba Cloud has deployed hundreds of cloud data centers in 21 regions around the world by far and the scale of servers has reached one million. The action of the investment, meaning that Alibaba Cloud’s data centers and servers will triple from today's level and will bid for the world's largest cloud infrastructure.
The infrastructure project of Alibaba Cloud mainly focuses on the central and western regions across the country, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau, the Yangtze River Delta, and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei areas.
