Hangzhou Municipal Housing Security and Management Bureau launched a "signature in the cloud" system to promote the transaction of residential properties on April 10, making Hangzhou the country's first city accepting e-signature for putting on record of the real estate registration authority.
Sellers and buyers have no need to arrange an onsite signing. Thanks to the e-signature, face ID, and other advanced technologies, the two parties only need to submit their electronic signatures to complete the real estate transaction.
The Municipal Housing Security and Management Bureau has already unveiled an online property-viewing platform amid the COVID-19 pandemic, through which the housing selection process can also be realized online.
To ensure the security of online contract-signing, the backups of the signing process and real-name certification process will be copied and saved in the internet court, the judicial expertise center, notary public office, and other blockchain-based judicial sections.
