Chinese automaker Geely Holding Group from East China's Zhejiang province has signed up as the official automobile services partner for the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022, local media reported on April 13.
Geely, which owns Volvo and a stake in Daimler, has been at the forefront of the Chinese auto industry's digitalization efforts and connectivity drives.
With "smart" being one of the keywords of the 2022 Games, the Hangzhou Asian Games Organizing Committee (HAGOC) hopes to present the world with a smart Asian Games by leveraging the technology advantages of the city, according to Chen Weiqiang, vice mayor of Hangzhou.
An Conghui, president and CEO of Geely, said that the company will continue to improve the intelligent mobility experience for users with innovative technologies amid efforts to contribute to the smart transportation solutions for the Asian Games 2022.
He added that as Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 marks a great opportunity to showcase China's strength to the world, the partnership opens a new chapter in cooperation between Geely and HAGOC.
