Here are five venues being recognized as the most environmentally friendly.
The design of the Fuyang Water Sports Center is inspired by the green mountains and lush waters in Fuyang district. Grass and flowers grow on the venue's roof. Thirty gold medals for the rowing, canoe sprint and canoe slalom competitions will be given away here.
The West Lake International Golf Course in Xihu district is surrounded by mountains and streams.
Ningbo Banbianshan Beach Volleyball Center allows audiences to enjoy games as well as views of the coastlines in Xiangshan district, Ningbo.
Chun'an Jieshou Sports Center looks like a dew on Qiandao Lake in Chun'an district. Its bicycle racing track extends over 200 kilometers along the lake.
Viewed from above, the Tonglu Equestrian Center is shaped like the Chinese character "马" (meaning "horse"). The center will host the equestrian dressage, show jumping and triathlon competitions of the Games and hand out six gold medals.
