Hangzhou takes on Asian Games look in 2022

Hangzhou, China, January 7, 2022: Hangzhou, host city of the 19th Asian Games in September 2022, has spruced up its environment in anticipation of the major sporting event and to welcome the new year.

A thousand drones flew over the Hangzhou Olympic Centre on December 30 and 31, 2021, creating different visuals related to the Asian Games such as mascots Chenchen, Congcong and Lianlian, sporting icons and landmark buildings.

Nearly 2,500 students from 18 colleges and universities in Zhejiang province that will host sports events during the 19th Asian Games held a New Year's gala on December 30, 2021. Olympic gold medalists from Zhejiang such as swimmer Wang Shun, shooter Yang Qian and weightlifter Shi Zhiyong extended their greetings to college students via video during the event.

Four official posters of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou 2022 have been published and 100,000 posters were put up across the city.

Billboards featuring cultural elements related to the 19th Asian Games could be seen in metro stations in Hangzhou. They include the official slogan "Heart to Heart, @Future". Some 2,000 billboards will be put up before March.

A bus in Hangzhou was decorated with Asian Games-themed posters. Asian Games official journals, magazines and other information publications are also available in the bus.

Light boxes and countdown devices related to the Asian Games have been set up at busy commercial streets in Hangzhou, and the welcome pages of various local news mobile apps now feature Asian Games elements.

The 19th Asian Games will take place in Hangzhou, capital city of Zhejiang province in eastern China, from September 10-25 this year with 40 sports, 61 disciplines and 482 events in 55 competition venues in Hangzhou and five co-host cities.
