The 2050 Conference was held from April 23 to 25 in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, with the theme of "Tech Brings Youth Together." The event provided a platform for young tech enthusiasts to communicate and brainstorm technological innovations to improve people's daily lives, local media outlets reported on April 27.
A discussion was held as part of this year's conference to envision what future schools and education will be like.
This discussion brought together students and teachers from middle schools, young designers from Zhejiang University and the China Academy of Art, as well as entrepreneurs and engineers from companies.
Cai Yanming, a representative from Xuetong Technology Company, suggested that future learning and teaching activities will be held in a fully-digitalized space where data will be generated with the use of sensors and internet of things technology.
He added that each digital space should have an AI teacher, who will join human teachers to provide customized services for students.
Feng Ran, a student at Jianlan Middle School, said that advanced technology will be utilized to make education become more customized.
"For instance, students can learn songs they like in music class. When the term is over, teachers can give credits to students based on the data generated during the class," she said.
