In Hangzhou's Qianyun International Community, a reading workshop featuring sharing books with both parents and children fell on April 18, five days before World Book Day.
Children in the workshop enjoyed the celebration with a lesson given by Wendy, the teacher from Hangzhou Sunshine Art Training School and Ana Zupan, an international graduate student from Slovenia.
A prize quiz on World Book Day and Hangzhou Asian Games aroused great interests in children. Everyone on site was amazed at how they, aged 4 to 8, remembered well the details right after the lesson was given.
Sharing time was special in the celebration. Lou Junyi shared her experience on Arbor’s Day, Candy, Keyana, Zhao Changyue, and Wang Siwen read aloud their favorite stories, and Hermione and Xuanxuan, though the youngest of all, sang so beautifully that they were both applauded for their performances.
Reading can start at a young age. "Keep up the great work and make every day the World Book Day," Ana wished children a happy childhood where they can explore the world in books.
