Shouchang town in Jiande, Hangzhou, was recently included in Zhejiang's second batch of towns that will pilot efforts to revive ancient towns.

The efforts are part of Hangzhou's cultural renaissance program to rejuvenate time-honored towns.

Shouchang town has nearly 1,800 years of history and can be traced back to the Three Kingdoms (220-280) period.

The ancient town has in recent years taken many measures, such as building a food court and several landmarks and bolstering its night economy to give itself a new look.
