This year's first major travel rush arrived in Hangzhou during the Tomb Sweeping Day holiday from April 3 to 5, attracting 2.25 million visitors, 88 percent of the 2019 number, local media outlets reported.

The civil aviation industry was quick to see a recovery, with tourists from Guangzhou, Chengdu, and Beijing booking the most flights.

Hangzhou remains popular among in-province visitors from cities such as Shaoxing, Jiaxing, Jinhua, Ningbo, and Huzhou, while Shanghai, Jiangsu, and Anhui sent the most inter-provincial visitors.

April 4, the second day of the holiday, was the busiest day in terms of tourism.

A total of 520,000 visitors booked hotel rooms in Hangzhou, mostly in Jianggan, Yuhang, and Xiaoshan districts. Hotels in Chun'an county, Jiande city, and Shangcheng district also saw increasing popularity among visitors.

The West Lake scenic area received a total of 302,000 visitors throughout the entire holiday.

A system enabling visitors to check in in 30 seconds and enter parks in 20 seconds has been implemented. However, visitors must make reservations in advance to enter scenic spots requiring admission tickets.
