Hangzhou is set to open the north-south express line, Metro Line 18, and the project has entered the construction stage. The first phase of the Metro Line 18 extends from Xiaoshan Yiqiao Station to Linping Century Avenue Station, covering a distance of 48.3 km. This express line connects the main urban area from north to south of Hangzhou. 

The Metro Line 18 intersects with multiple other metro lines, facilitating swift transfers for passengers. It links four districts, including Linping, Shangcheng, Binjiang and Xiaoshan, with a designed speed of 120 km/h, expected to be open to traffic in 2028. After being put into operation, it would only take 30 minutes from Linping to the central urban area.

In addition, two new stations of the Metro Line 19, Wulian Station and Yicheng Road Station, will open in early December.
