Recently, Hangzhou has released the economic statements for the first three quarters of 13 districts and counties, revealing both an overall improvement in the quality of development and changes in the ranking among these regions.
In 2022, Yinzhou District of Ningbo surpassed Yuhang District of Hangzhou to become the top-ranked economic zone of Zhejiang. However, this year, Yuhang is striving to catch up, has shown better GDP and growth rate in the first three quarters, expected to claim the top spot in Zhejiang. Thereinto, the digital economy has played a significant role in boosting the economic development of Yuhang, and the consumption economy also ranks the first in Hangzhou.
From the perspective of GDP, the rankings of Hangzhou's districts and counties in the first three quarters are as follows: Yuhang, Shangcheng, Binjiang, Xiaoshan, Gongshu, Xihu, Qiantang, Linping, Fuyang, Lin'an, Jiande, Tonglu and Chun'an.
Although Gongshu is currently ahead of Xihu, the ranking competition remains somewhat uncertain. Two districts differ in their strengths. Gongshu takes a leading place in terms of the growth rate of industrial added value above designated scale, while Xihu excels in the total retail sales of consumer goods.
Fuyang's GDP is 68.99 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 5.2%. Its growth rate places it among the top three in Hangzhou. Whether Fuyang can achieve the milestone of becoming the "county with GDP exceeding 100 billion yuan" will depend on its performance of the fourth quarter.
Overall, Hangzhou's economic rankings reflect the dynamic nature of its districts and counties, with various factors contributing to their positions. The city continues to witness progress and competition in different sectors, shaping its economic landscape and paving the way for further development.
