The First Cross Research Platform Infrastructure Project of Hangzhou Extremely Weak Magnetic Field Facility started construction on October 30. It is the national key sci-tech infrastructure, mainly used to conduct experimental verification of major sci-tech achievements in engineering and break through key technologies and equipment constraints.
"Extremely Weak Magnetic Field" refers to the magnetic field that is difficult to measure or cannot be perceived because it is too weak. For instance, the human brain has extremely weak magnetism.
The facility can be used for measurement of ultra-high sensitivity magnetic field. The technology can be applied in three aspects: 1. Neural signal measurement and brain science research; 2. Tackling pathogenesis of major cardio-cerebral vascular diseases; 3. Achieving high-end medical devices made in China.
