Wulin Sub-district of Gongshu District of Hangzhou has recently made first trial application of stair-climbing cart for the elderly.

The stair-climbing cart looks like a smaller wheelchair with handles on both sides and a built-in smart and comfortable cushioned stair-climbing system. At the instruction of the operators, an aged citizen took a seat, fastened the safety belt and successfully got downstairs via the cart step by step from the third floor to the ground floor within five minutes. 

The trial application of the stair-climbing cart is one of the public welfare projects. During the 3-month trial operation, moderately or seriously impaired and mentally retarded senior citizens may enjoy 12 free services per year, while other seniors may enjoy the service at a low price. Actually, the stair-climbing cart enables the elderly having difficult in walking to travel freely and enhances their sense of happiness and sense of gain.
