“Tea leaves are growing quickly recently and large-scale plucking of local tea species will start within a week or so,” said Miao Yaqin, a tea peasant of Longjing Village.

In addition, Hangzhou tea plantations have gradually adopted large-scale tea plucking mode with considerate arrangement of food, clothing, shelter and transport for the tea pickers. The tea roasting process has also been optimized and there are regular tea marketing channels. “The overall booking of tea is very good this year, with offline and online booking increased by 80% and 20% respectively compared to the previous year,” said Qi Yingjie, the board director of Hangzhou West Lake Longjing Tea Co., Ltd.
