Many colleges and universities in Hangzhou organized colorful cultural activities for foreign students to experience the strong atmosphere of Chinese New Year during the Spring Festival. 

The foreign students of ZUFE School of International Education & Studies went to Xiasha Sub-district to experience traditional folk customs of Chinese New Year, such as writing spring festival couplets, together with local residents. Kali from Kazakhstan was deeply impressed by Chinese calligraphy. She went straight to the site and wrote the couplets to express her best wishes: “The lucky stars guard the auspicious house, and five blessings frequently visit the benevolent family”. 

They also went to Southern Song Deshou Palace Site Museum to experience Song culture. Dressed in costumes of the Song Dynasty, they rambled in the palace and garden and appreciated the famous painting named as A Panorama of Rivers and Mountains. 

China Jiliang University, Zhejiang Sci-tech University, Zhejiang Dianzi University and other universities also organized overseas students to learn how to make dumplings and celebrate Chinese New Year in a joyful atmosphere.
