Special ornaments of the Year of the Rabbit, Chinese-style evening dressings, and oriental thermos are among the top-selling Chinese products for the Spring Festival. Users from over 200 countries and regions searched Spring Festival related commodities via the platform, with search volume in December increased by 141% on a month-on-month basis.
The figures come from AliExpress which is a cross-border e-commerce platform oriented for global market under Alibaba and is headquartered in Hangzhou City of Zhejiang Province.
Overseas consumers get to know the Spring Festival culture and join Chinese people in ringing in the New Year through the cross-border e-commerce platform. The data show that, the gifted money in the red envelop is favored by many developed western countries, such as USA, Spain and Mexico, and the exports of Chinese traditional costumes such as Han Chinese Clothing and Cheongsam surged. Also, Chinese typical blessing for “good health in a new year” has been well received by overseas consumers, as is indicated by the booming sales of glucometer, oximeter and other individual health monitoring devices.
