As of the end of June, 2022, Hangzhou owned 109,111 valid invention patents (accounting for 39.18% in Zhejiang), increased by 29.28% from the same period of last year, ranking the first among all provincial capital cities in China, according to the latest data.

Centered on "IP and Youth: Innovating for a Better Future", the theme of this year's International Intellectual Property Day, Hangzhou held the First "Innovation Cup" Hangzhou Youth IP Professional Skill Competition. Over one hundred outstanding youths specialized in intellectual property signed up for the competition. At present, Hangzhou owns more than one thousand IP engineers.
