As the summer holiday started, Hangzhou's Tonglu County held a series of interesting activities for the rural residents.

On July 5-6, people in Zhangwu Village Cultural Auditorium were working around the clock for holding interesting class sessions. Volunteers from the Fuxing Children's Palace and Zhejiang University of Science and Technology provided children with safety training classes and knowledge on the "24 solar terms".

Tonglu has been included as a pilot county for introducing the Fuxing Children's Palace to the rural areas since late May in 2021. Over the past year, the institute has carried out more than 2,000 activities, involving more than 38,000 participants. Children from primary and secondary schools came to participate in the events with summer camps and interesting classes, which enriched the summer holiday for those living in the countryside. Besides, the Children's Palace has also met the diversified needs of children and expanded their interests, even their specialties.

Townships in Tonglu county are actively promoting the function of the Children's Palace, so that the kids could have their own amusement park on the doorstep.

The rural areas are also turned into sports fields. The Tonglu Rural Cultural Auditorium sports meeting kicked off in Meirong Village, participated by more than 300 sports lovers in the village. The event consisted of tug-of-war, chess, table tennis and a special crop harvest competition. Participants ran hard in the fields with crops under the scorching sun. The activity highly integrates the rural culture and the sports spirit.
