On July 9th, a total of 350 swimming enthusiasts participated in the mixed 6×50m freestyle relay race held at the Huanglong Sports Centre Swimming & Diving Centre, the competition venue for water polo in the Asian Games Hangzhou 2022. Starting from the second day, citizens are also able to experience scuba diving, free diving and mermaid diving in the center's diving pool under the condition of completing a 600-meter swimming test within 20 minutes.

54 Asian Games competition venues opened or partially opened to the public. The Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Stadium and Hangzhou Olympic Sports Centre Tennis Centre have opened their outdoor sports grounds. The public can book outdoor venues online for the athletic training grounds, tennis, badminton, basketball, and volleyball courts. Some highly specialized venues, such as the Gongshu Canal Sports Park Stadium, which will host the hockey events during the Games, provide venue tours for the public to take a closer look at the Games.
