Hangzhou ranks the first in Zhejiang Province in term of zero-waste index according to Q1 Zero-waste Index 2022 recently released by the province. As one of the national pilot cities in "zero-waste city" construction, Hangzhou will further push ahead with "zero-waste city" construction and ensure "zero-waste Asian Games" in all respects.

A new pattern of "zero-waste Hangzhou" has gradually taken shape. For example, the city has built a total of 473 provincial-level high-standard demonstration communities and 54 demonstration villages in domestic waste sorting. Remarkable results have been achieved in waste recycling and reuse, with 48 sorting centers for renewable resources and 3,685 recycling outlets. 

Zero-waste cells built last year, such as zero-waste venues, zero-waste stations and zero-waste hotels, have yielded fruitful results. A total of more than 800 cells, falling into 25 categories, have been built, accounting for 50% of the total number in Zhejiang. This year, a set of Hangzhou-specific standard "zero-waste cell" systems will be refined and formed and efforts will be made to create above 500 cells of various types in Hangzhou.
