The West Lake and Xixi Wetland acted up to ensure the survival of plants in hot summer as the temperature remained high continuously. Gardening workers of Wushan Scenic Area set to work at sunrise yesterday morning.

At present, greenbelts and trees along the main roads and in main parks and scenic areas are watered twice a day in the morning and evening instead of at noon when the sunlight is strong to avoid damage of plant roots. Machines are used in the artificial operation to enhance the efficiency. Now, the scenic area has mobilized over 400 gardening workers, 6 watering carts and 89 pumps to ensure the normal growth and landscaping function of plants in parks.
