Hangzhou has recently issued Hangzhou Three-year Action Plan for Construction of Embedded Sports Facilities (2022-2024).

According to Action Plan, in three years, more than 16% of newly-added sports venue area would be used for construction of embedded sports facilities, mainly involving three big balls (football, basketball and volleyball), three small balls (tennis, badminton and table tennis), and goalball. It is expected that, by 2024, the per capita sports venue area will reach over 2.7 square meters, forming a “10-minute” fitness circle.

The Action Plan stressed that the city would implement three-year action plan for sports park construction. The embedded sporting facilities with natural turf, such as sports parks and football fields, shall be categorized into landscaping land use, the proportion of land used for fitness facilities shall be no less than 20%, and the green land rate of the park shall be no less than 65%. In addition, the space under the bridge will also be utilized and embedded with sports facilities so that they are more easily available to the citizens. 

Availing the opportunity of Hangzhou Asian Games, according to the Action Plan, the city will improve the layout of city-wide fitness resources, effectively solve the problems due to the shortage of sports facilities and make citizens enjoy the bonus brought by upcoming Asian Games.
