There are currently 300 COVID-19 vaccination sites and nearly 20,000 medics who can administer the vaccines in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province, local media reported on June 21.

Since the beginning of this year, Hangzhou has been promoting COVID-19 vaccines to seniors aged 60 and above.

Rice, cooking oil and supermarket coupons have been provided as incentives to elderly people who get vaccinated.

As of June 7, 1.69 million senior citizens - 80.94 percent of the city's elderly population - had received their first COVID-19 vaccine shots.

As of May 20, mainland China had fully inoculated 216 million senior citizens, nearly 82 percent of its elderly population. It had also administered booster shots to 164 million of them, according to the National Health Commission.
