Putting up long poles, spreading trammel nets, taking blood samples for precise testing... all these have been the routine procedures carried out in Tonglu Specific Equine Disease-free Zone of Hangzhou. Over the past two years, Professor Xu Aichun and his team from China Jiliang University have surveyed and monitored the species, quantity and main distribution areas of wild animals in the disease-free zone. They have taken samples for testing and have proposed advice for taking targeted precaution against wide animals prone to infectious diseases based on their study results with consideration of ecological habits of those animals. All these efforts have been made to ensure safety of equestrian sports during Hangzhou Asian Games.
