2021 Science Day (Hangzhou) kicked off on Sept.9 with a grand ceremony to promote the concept of peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutralization.
A mini science show was displayed on the ceremony, telling a story of an old man who attended a training on how to navigate a smart phone after some failing attempts. Since March, Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology (ZAST) has been training more elderly people, with a 3-year goal of 2 million, to swipe a smart phone.
2021 Science Day (Hangzhou) also ushered in a 3-day fair with 22 booths promoting relevant concepts to the public during interactive games.
In the following days, over 2,000 public science activities will be rolled out across Zhejiang, an initiative of technology enpowering the province's 26 counties in mountain areas will be launched, and a campaign of 1,000 secientists and 1,000 scientific bases serving schools will get underway , according to ZAST.
