Water plants in the West Lake are flourishing in early summer. You can see “underwater forests” through the clear water and even see fishes and shrimps swimming among the “forests” through the lens of underwater camera.

West Lake Water Plant Community Optimization Demonstration Project, launched by the West Lake Water Area Administration in 2011, has kept improving the underwater ecological space of the West Lake and helped set up “water-land-air” three-dimensional green landscape. Now the area of the “underwater forests” has reached about 317,000m2.
