Hangzhou, capital city of East China’s Zhejiang province, launched its Global Youth Talent Community of March 27 to better attract young talents worldwide.
Four overseas subsidies are also opened on the same day in Sydney of Australia, London of the UK, Toronto of Canada and Seattle of the US.
The community is to lure, cultivate, keep and serve global talents to start their own businesses in Hangzhou.
Mao Xihao, director of Organization Department of the CPC Hangzhou Municipal Committee, said that Hangzhou has been attaching great importance to luring young talents. It has applied a series of policies to ensure that entrepreneurship is guaranteed.
According to official data, 436,000 talents under 35 chose to settle in Hangzhou in 2020, growing by 106 percent year-on-year. The city is also one of the most attractive cities to foreign talents. The number of overseas returnees grew from 130,000 in 2000 to 4.2 million in 2019.
The community will be a home to young talents coming to Hangzhou. It will hold a series of business activities, provide a whole set of services, implement a series of favorable policies, open a basket of intern positions and grant an one-time entrepreneurship funding.
