A total of 20 key projects receiving 42 billion yuan ($6.47 billion) in investment started construction in Hangzhou on March 17. They involve high-end equipment manufacturing, social undertakings, and infrastructure.

Thirteen projects receiving 34.1 billion yuan in investment will be built to serve the local manufacturing and service industries. They include China Mobile's information and communications industrial park in Zhejiang, which was designed to improve the scale and scalability of the area's 5G network.

Four projects with 5.7 billion yuan in investment focused on the development of social undertakings. One of the projects is a new branch of the Zhejiang Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine in Fuyang district. The hospital is expected to strengthen Fuyang's medical treatment and research capabilities and bring convenience to patients from other parts of Hangzhou and from neighboring cities and provinces.

Three projects receiving 2.3 billion yuan in investment revolve around improving urban infrastructure. They include a talent apartment in Fuyang district and the reconstruction of the Qiandao Lake Bridge in Chun'an county.

A total of 361 projects ranked as key provincial-level projects receiving 582.3 billion yuan in investment started construction in Zhejiang province that day.
