Buried in the dirt, several ceramics was stumbled uponrecently, when a villager from Hangzhou’s Jinhua Town was digging bamboo shoots!
Fully intact as they are seen, these ceramics turned out to be from over 2,000 years ago, confirmed by staff from Xiaoshan Museum.
Jinhua Town is one of the places to produce the earliest ceramics, with a well-documented history that stretches back throughout the Spring and Autumn Period (770–476 bc) and the Warring States Period in China (475-221 BC).
In recent years, more millinery-old ceramics were found and handed over to the museum, thanks to the promotion of cultural relics protection, advocated by the local government.
