Introduction:
Fukui is the capital city of Fukui Prefecture, Japan. The city is located in the north-central part of the prefecture on the coast of the Sea of Japan. It is the political, economic and cultural center of Fukui Prefecture, as well as a famous tourist attraction in Japan. Due to its friendly natural environment, the city is one of the residential cities that favored by the Japanese.
The new Fukui was established on February 1, 2006 in a merging of the towns of Miyama and Shimizu and the village of Koshino. The city has an estimated population of 269,557 and an area of 538.17 square kilometers.
