According to the data newly released by Hangzhou Cartoon, Animation & Game Industry Development Center, Hangzhou’s cartoon and animation industry was still on the rise in 2021 despite the negative impact of COVID-19. The gross production value reached RMB 23.736 billion from Q1 to Q3, equaling 91.7% of the gross annual value of 2020. RMB 688 million of tax was paid, equaling 93% of the gross annual tax of 2020. The gross annual production value is expected to create a new high in 2021.
