The 2021 Fortune Global 500 Summit opened in Xiaoshan district, Hangzhou, Zhejiang province on Oct 19, attracting about 400 leading business people and scholars to exchange experiences and brainstorm new ideas.

As part of the official announcement of Fortune's annual Global 500 list, the Fortune Global 500 Summit has been held for eight years, with this year's edition attracting several big names from Cisco, Johnson & Johnson, Amazon, General Electric, Pfizer, Amer, as well as BGI.

Eight Zhejiang enterprises were included on the list, which included three companies making their debut on the list, Rongsheng Group, Hengyi Petrochemical Co, and Zhejiang Communications Investment Group.

The summit has consistently built bridges between the hosting cities and Global 500 enterprises. As part of this year's summit, Hangzhou also aimed to showcase its friendly business and investment environment, especially its recent achievements in boosting digital transformation and digital economy development, thus further promoting itself around the world.

A proposal calling for low-carbon and green development among Zhejiang local enterprises was reached at the summit, with auto giant Geely, beverage giant Wahaha, as well as over 80 other large enterprises affirming their commitment to the proposal.
