Hangzhou topped Economist Intelligence Unit’s latest ranking of Chinese cities with the most economic growth potential in 2021. According to EIU, south‑eastern provinces of Guangdong, Jiangsu and Zhejiang, where most top 10 cities are located, are best placed to benefit from China’s expected transition to a more technology-driven growth model over the next five years (2021 – 2025). Hangzhou and other cities will attract larger inflows of talent in the field of technology.
