Recently, "Asian Games Show Hangzhou", one instalment in the "New Asian Games, Hangzhou Charms" trilogy, swept across social media. This short film, crafted through more than a thousand individual frames, each meticulously embroidered on Hangzhou silk, offered viewers a fascinating journey through the Asian Games.

"Silk is an international business card of Hangzhou, with its unique glossy texture suitable for creation of beautiful shots. We thought of painting on silk, connecting each one like an animation to produce a short film." said Pan Jianxin, head of the short film production team.

Reportedly, the beautifully designed images were first spray-printed onto square silk scarves, which were then hand-embroidered by experienced female embroiderers. The combination of silk and the traditional craft of embroidery makes the osmanthus flowers falling on the lake and the arrow in the bull's-eye instantly "come alive".

Pan said, to incorporate so many cultural elements in the film, all of which are related to Hangzhou, the AI tool provided much valuable assistance.
