On 28 August, the dining hall of the Main Media Centre (MMC) at the Hangzhou International Expo Center made its debut.

The dining tables and ornaments in the hall are made of paper-based materials, which can be recycled after the Games. All the tableware for diners takes biodegradable and eco-friendly materials—the knives, forks, and spoons are made of polylactic acid (PLA), and plates and bowls from rice husks.

The overall design is inspired by the Scroll of Dwelling in the Fuchun Mountains and the Ten Views of the West Lake, as well as Hangzhou's typical cultural elements of the traditional style in the Song Dynasty. It follows the Colour System of Hangzhou Asian Games, creating a pleasant and appealing ambience for diners here.

According to the latest press accreditation statistics, the daily peak of diners in the hall will reach approximately 12,000, setting a new record in the Asian Games history.

The Hangzhou International Expo Center already carried out multiple rounds of food safety drills in August and received positive feedback, demonstrating its capability to formally provide reception services.
