On August 29th, Hangzhou International Airport (HGH) successfully conducted a stress test during the peak hours of Arrivals and Departures (AND) in preparation for the 19th Asian Games. Within less than an hour, starting from 9 o'clock in the morning, the airport efficiently managed the entry of 340 simulated "athletes" from Yemen, Malaysia, and India, who were portrayed by volunteers.
This stress test simulated various entry service formalities, encompassing more than 10 procedures. These procedures included AND information transmission, welcoming and seeing-off services, exclusive passage stress tests, and transportation transfers upon arrivals. The primary objective was to assess the coordination among all steps in high-pressure scenarios characterized by heavy passenger flow and a substantial amount of information.
The provision of AND services is of utmost importance for the smooth operation of the 19th Asian Games. The Arrivals and Departures Operations Centre (ADC), located within the Main Operations Centre (MOC), will offer AND services at designated entry and exit ports from September 9th to October 30th. These ports include Hangzhou International Airport (HGH), the official AND railway station Hangzhoudong Railway Station, as well as the four recommended entry and exit ports in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Urumqi.
To ensure efficient and seamless support during the Games, Hangzhou International Airport (HGH) has planned several measures. These include the opening of standby check-in islands, the addition of special check-in counters dedicated to the Asian Games, and the implementation of professional security lines. These initiatives aim to enhance the overall operational efficiency and provide a smooth experience for passengers during the event.
