In an international Kabaddi exchange activity held recently, Mohammed Sarwar, Secretary General of the Asian Kabaddi Federation, officially gave the honorary title of "the Hub of Kabaddi in China" to Guali Town in Xiaoshan District. From holding the kabaddi of the Hangzhou Asian Games to becoming China's first hub of this sport, Guali has been making the niche sport kabaddi popular through the Hangzhou Asian Games and attractive to more people.

Kabaddi is a team sport with adversarial competition and the only event in the Hangzhou Asian Games with a single player (raider) on offense against the opposing team with several players as defenders.

"Xiaoshan Guali Sports Centre is currently the most professional Kabaddi venue in China, and it is also qualified to host international Kabaddi competitions," stated Xue Baohong, Technology Division Director of Kabaddi sport for the Hangzhou Asian Games.

While preparing for the Hangzhou Asian Games, Guali has organised national fitness activities to promote Kabaddi in communities, villages, and enterprises and China's first national Kabaddi referee and coach training programme, promoting the popularisation of Kabaddi in China.
